I also picked up this, likley repainted head so no markings.
Just a fun thing to have and I don't see these around up here.

Doesn't look so much like a repaint in the picture, as much as it does a practice head on a live motor. The practice were black, white markings if it had any. Typically the black warheads would have a long steel rod running down the center for weight and balance.
 
I was thinking similar to Jeff's post, except I was thinking two production lines, one for motors and one for warheads and they met up. The individual items would have been painted when produced to protect the metal, then shipped to an assembly plant.
