Hello,

Does anyone know more about this long shell.
I have a diagram of 2.75in HE shell MkIII fuzed 80/44 but this one is longer.

That photo looks like it might be out of Hogg and Thurston's book.

You answered some questions with your pictures : so this is MkII shell.
No adapater ? The 1in Gs fuze seems to be screwed in the shell.
Could you give length without fuze ?
 
It's an Armstrong Whitworth shell (EOC monogram). Attached shows the previous contract for 2.75" to give an idea of cost and output. As arrears stand at 16,000 as of 27 June 1915, this shell might well be one of the output of this contract.

The length without fuze is 293mm. The shell has an adapter which you can see below and it is made of steel, not brass. Shown beside the shorter model.
