2.7

It certainly looks like a 2.7 to me. Check the case length is 9mm.

2.7mm

It sounds like you are good to go with a 2.7mm Kolibri!

A nice find.

Cheers

whoa dangerous talk lee,,im seriously fighting the temptation to do this one........
seriously though its not getting cut,if theyre were plenty around i would do but seems a scarce item

The copper cased .22 is the one I've just mentioned in my reply about ICI 1945 ammo.
I dont have one in my collection so was unable to post a picture. You have helped me out by coincidence!
Cheers,
navyman.

dear spotter, better late than never. I can confirm this little cartridge to be 2.7 mm Kolibri. My picture shows from left to right (9 x 19) 9 mm parabellum, (4,25 x 10) 4,25 mm liliput, (3 x 8) 3 mm kolibri and (2,7 x 9) 2,7 mm kolibri

HK971, your round is a 2.7 Kolibri, but by the look of the case mouth, I would say it is of later Megret manufacture, not one of the old originals.

Talk about an anemic cartridge, I think this is it. They also made a 3mm Kolibri which is just as anemic as 2.7 mm round was. There is slightly more info in the "Catridges Of The World", 10th edition if anybody has that one. If not, I can give you all what they state?

@us-subs: I don't see any difference between the two?
@V40: 3 mm kolibri, see my picture ad page one.
@millsbomber: no kolibri's the pinfire is a 2mm breloque. the rimfire I don't Know

I wasn't making a comparison, just throwing another one out into the mix for comment etc.

Here are some of the boxes the 2mm rimfires came in. Two of them have the makers listed, Dynamit Nobel and Manufacture Franaise d'Armes et Cycles de Saint-Etienne. Also, here are variations of the 2mm pinfire with a couple of the manufacturers listed: http://freemycollection.com/?page=2mmPinfireCartridges

Here is a pic of a Lilliput 4.25mm next to a 2.7 Kolibri. The Kolibri had to be "Blu Tac'd" as the primer was not seated far enough into the primer pocket.

@JonnyC, You wrote: " your round is a 2.7 Kolibri, but by the look of the case mouth, I would say it is of later Megret manufacture, not one of the old originals" What's the diffence between the original (?) and later Megret manufacure?
