Hi, I have this 40x158R 2 pounder no.1 cartridge. I thought they were only used by the navy, but this one doesn't have the naval headstamp.. What weapon did use these kind of cartridges?

I am not an expert on headstamps, but the British Army acquired a number (c.50?) of 2 pdr AA mountings before deciding to buy the Bofors gun instead. They eventually passed the mountings on to the Navy.

The RAF also experimented with a 40 mm Vickers Class S (same ammo) in a dorsal turret on a modified Wellington bomber. They subsequently adopted the gun for the anti-tank role with the Hurricane IID and IV, but that was after 1939.
