Please see the attached photos of 2 x 75mm shrapnel shells.

1) the shell showing faint stencils could be Swiss - the body of the shell being stamped with a small W+ E and below the date of 1907, P.N63.and the base is stamped W. The fuze is dated 07 but also has a + stamped on it. Is this Swiss and is the original paint Swiss or German standard?

2) this shell appears to have its original paint finish - the white strip is actually a piece of masking tape that has been on there a good few years. Apart from a serial number there are no stampings to the side of the body or the fuze but the base is stamped X and 8. The fuze has course threads.
any thoughts please?
many thanks, DaveIMG_0651.jpegIMG_0648.jpegimage0.jpegIMG_0652.jpegIMG_0653.jpegIMG_0649.jpeg

Yes, No.1 ist a Swiss 7,5 cm Schrapnell 1903 with original color.

No.2 is a 7,5 cm Krupp shrapnell for field guns. But very hard to tell for what or in which country it was made. By the lack of any stamps I think it was made by Krupp itself.

I have a similar projectile that came with a 76 x 276R case. 90mm rim and semi-fixed. Model 1903? field gun.
The projectile has white print: M + F over a T.
Stamped 1 1906. and C . + .
The base stamped with a fancy monogram and G 15 + .

Fuze dated 11 05.

Brass case is from Feb 1906 and came with 2 similar projectiles. Hopefully it is the correct case type.

Gosh that’s a cracker Ron and a long way from home too! I’ll need to look out for a suitable case. Thanks for sharing that. Dave
