2019 2020 Trip to Philippine's finds

Hi Every one finally uploading these little jem's i see on 2 trips to the Philippine's.

These was on display as pictures in Dive Shop on the Island of Coron in the main town of Coron proper its a wonderful place to stay and dive as there are many Japanese Wreaks there from deep to snorkel depth.




These pictures i took after walking back to Daanbantayan town my wifes home town in north Cebu island, i asked the owner where it come from and it was recovered from a local beach inerted and been there ever since as a door bell and child caller.





if any of the Mods can turn these pictures please do its driven me crazy trying to turn......... Dave

I can certainly relate to your pictures. These were taken back in 2007 near my wife's home town, Dumaguete, on Negros Oriental, just one island south of your wife's island. These are located in a makeshift museum at the home of a man whose father was a Philippine guerilla fighting the Japanese during WWII. Most of the artifacts in the museum are from the "Battle of the Visayas" the occurred from March 18, 1945 to July 30, 1945, of which a major campaign took place against Japanese forces dug in in the hills above Dumaguete.

O yes that's a great little museum loved looking round it and chatting with the owner, there was some mills grenades there that possibly was from the surrender of Singapore and sent to that island, so many items he has dug up from the battle there, the drive up to where the Japs was holding out was quite a hair raising experience, if you ever get the chance visit the volcanic hot springs in Vaslay hot springs abandoned resort but great to get in the old pools still there loved it,,,,,,,,,, Dave

Glad you were able to see that museum. The owner is very proud of his collection, rightfully, and has also been helping American families to identify some of the locations were their GI family member was killed.

I was at the museum again January of this year and he has done a major remodel. It looks nice, and now the artifacts are somewhat protected from the elements.
