Brass hispano case H/S A D 2 40
with etching on case side.
Is this one of the French trial rounds during British acceptance trials for the 20mm Hispano cannon?
The style of the engraving on the side of the case looks Swedish to me, especially the "m/41", which certainly is not a British designation.
Also, the primer looks like it has been drilled, which together with the engraving suggests this is a sample piece. I am not a 20mm specialist but could the case be Swiss?
20mm ammo with this stamp were imported to Sweden together with 20mm hispano guns used by the swedish airforce both as an aircraft gun and an AA gun, the designation on the AA gun is m/41. it is of swiss manufacture. the engraving on the case side is most likly swedish.
