20mm Projectile ID

This is a 20mm projectile that is 88mm long. The driving band is 5.12mm wide. The projectile is hollow and an off center hole has been drilled into the base. It has a solid point or solid nose cap. There is no markings on the driving band or projectile and I haven't been able to screw the nose out of the body. Before I cleaned it up a little, there was a slight hint of some yellow paint. The tiny amout of paint may have been from something else though, since the projectile was so rusty. I believe the projectile to be for a 20x110RB Oerlikon, but I haven't seen one like it before.

Any idea as to what it is, what Country it came from or what collor it should be?

Driving band looks too deep for an Oerlikon 20 x 110rb proj. They have particularly shallow bands.
Maybe for one of the later Hispano/Oerlikon 20 x 128 / 20 x 139 types?

Hi,
The 20x110 Oerlikon projectile is narrower than 20mm below the drive band so would be a very loose fit in any 20mm case apart from the 20x110 Orelikon case....don't think it is is from a 20x128KAA as any I have seen have a steel drive band....I am wondering if it is a projectile from the experimental universal 20mm projectile project for the 20x128 and 20mm Vulcan,the Vulcan version of these had a copper drive band the 20x128 had a steel drive band...but saying that the 20x128 example of these I have is 85mm in length

Man, I don't know....... It is likely to be experimental though. All things are possible with experimentals and there is a giant lack of documentaion on what the did on the various test ranges.
