20mm Projectile

Hi All,

I have a 20mm projectile in an unheadstamped Hispano case. The projectile seems to be solid, and the base is stamped JMB.
Can anyone tell me who JMB is, please? Presumably a WW2 manufacturer.

Thanks in advance,
Roger.

James Mackie, Belfast. (As an aside, the company made 25,000 No.36 grenade in 1940.)

Snufkin,

Many thanks for that information; most helpful.

I was not sure if the projectile was British, as its length (71mm) is shorter than "our" projectiles. This one has a sharp pointed tip, and is painted black with a blue band just below the ogive. Weight is 137 grams. I suspect it may be a trial core for AP tests, although it does not have the notches to fix the cap that was used on the Mk.II AP.

Roger.
