Based on the driving band and the body aft of the driving band it looks like a projectile for the 20mm Vulcan (or another gun that uses compatible ammunition). At least it looks the same as what I recall seeing, although there were several different shapes and driving bands used over the 70 odd year life of the gun system.. The specific body shape in front of the driving band I am not familiar with, and it might be too long for the Vulcan.
The driving band and the area behind it could well fit a 20mm x 102 (Vulcan). Here is a photo as an example.
But the overall impression of the projectile does not quite match the caliber or ammunition for me. And as ThomasP has already noted, the projectile is probably too long for that. Unfortunately, I cannot contribute any proper identification either.
