Any one help with these Canon cases?

Where would these have been used?

Aircraft or anti aircraft guns etc?

Just trying to help a friend out :)

They are 20mm Hispano. Fired from Hurricane, Typhoon, Mosquito, Spitfire, Meteor, Shackleton and probably more..... L-R, looks like Ball/Practice, Ball/ Practice, H.E, SAPI.
Hope that helps for starters..
Cheers
Gary

All British 20x110mm Hispano were used in aircraft unless fitted with a No 258 MkI fuze which would have been used in a ground to air role as it was too sensitive for air firing, this fuze was identified by having a blue coloured sealing disc in the tip of the fuze.
Your fuze,a No 253 MkI, would have had a long magazine and a green coloured sealing disc which indicated a insensitive strikerless fuze, red would indicate a sensitive strikerless fuze on other fuzes.
BMARCo on your case shows that it was manufactured by British Manufacturing and Research Co Ltd,the I shows that it was a MkI ball and the Z shows that it was filled with nitrocellulose as a propellant.

Are British WW2 Oerlikon/Hispano projectiles stamped with shell type/date/manufacturer etc like larger rounds? Cheers.
