Anyone have information on this 20x110RB Oerlikon?

Shell color: black red ring
Sheath Marking: FNB 73 20MM OER

Looking at the driving belt of the projectile i'd say a 20x110 Hispano Suiza API on a 20x110 Oerlikon shellcase.

Thanks pzgr40
Difference between the two.
20x110RB has the narrower the band of 20x110 Hispano.
thanks

The Uk experimented with AP-I,AP-HE and AP-T projectiles for the 20x110RB during the early 40's but none were put into service, the only reference I can find for the red band is the UK late dated MK 1z tracer of the 20x110 Hispano.
I notice the continual 'crimp' of the case to projectile,is this the norm for Belgian manufactured Oerlikon or has it been 're crimped'?

Tony

PS just had a close up view of this projectile and it looks like it has a 'punch' locked fuze? if so this would be a SAP (semi armour piercing)

That is the SAPI, the crimp seems normal for FN production, the one here juts got pulled or messed with so the neck went trumpet.
