25.4mm Vickers projectile

Found this 25.4mm Vickers projectile, I think it goes into the 25.4 x 189mmR case, I'm assuming it has an internal base fuze as there is enough thread inside to take one under the base (as shown), I maybe wrong, I cannot find anything about this projectile, comments welcome

It might be a "Day Tracer." Are there two tapered slots within the cavity walls? Is there a small fusible plug in the base? In a Day Tracer the cavity is filled with an aniline based solution, on firing the plug is destroyed and the aniline escapes via the previously plugged vent, ignites and leaves a white smoke trail.
