It's odd really as the No 49 was the standard cover for 25 pr with brake as well as 6 pr, 17 pr and 77mm and they were circular in section, I have several originals. The rectangular section like this one obviously suits 25 pr well but you would expect it to have a different number. The fact that it's Canadian manufacture should not make a difference.
