The material was changed over by brass to aluminum.

Indeed,but wasnt the type number changed as well because these particular fuzes were not reliable?
Im sure our own Fuzeman has posted somewhere in the forum about this?

Became me also Intressieren! Was there also a long execution of the ex of fuze in brass?
 
Brass fuzes

Hi Paul and Harry
The brass fuzes (5) fuzes were found to be too long a delay so the remaining batches were modified the 5 being stamped out and the (28) added just below the struck out no.
