3.7" Howitzer Case South African.

I got this at our latest Arms Fair and noted the U for Sth. Africa so had to buy it.
Why is there no lot number and is this common practice in SA ?
The primer was easily removed so may be a replaced UK primer rather than SA made.
Who is the primer maker whose monogram looks like a H over W ?
