The 6inch Battery looks very similar to the two 6inch emplacements at Grey Point Fort, Northern Ireland. Of course there is the difference of the gunhouses for air cover.
The original two guns were scrapped after closure in 1956 but two 6inch Mark VII replacements were obtained from Co. Cork during the 90's.
Hi SG,the emplacements are similiar, the guns at the Nothe were protected by steel armoured turrets. The gun i showed was not an original. It is a late addition.Steve,i do not know what MK of mine it was,i searched hi and low for an id plate or a stamp,it is in mint condition with ALL its original horns and its launching trolley, which is a lot rarer than than the mine.Pics attatched i hope! Tony.
