Hello!
I found this casing on my local classifieds for 30$. The seller doesnt know what kind it is (im guessing not a ordnance collector) and these are the only photos I have. After some searching around I found this looks alot like a 3 Inch 70 Caliber casing. Can anyone confirm? I hope to get this casing soon, will be getting it for 70$ (30$ for the shell, 40$ for shipping). I dont think thats to bad of a price for it. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Rhys,

If you are into three inch casings, I would be happy to sell you my Canadian 3 inch 50 cal. brass casing.

I understand that this gun has a joint history, we know it as the QF 3in N1 and it equates to the USN 3in Mk26. The gun in Royal Navy service armed the Tiger Class cruisers along with 6in weapons. I think that the Canadian Restigouche and Mackenzie Class destroyer escorts were armed with the gun. Pictured is a steel, never seen a brass one, 3in N1 alongside the 6in N5 case and a 4.5in Mk 3-5 for comparison.
