Hello, can anyone tell me anything about this ammo case, I know nothing about these things so any information would be gratefully received! Thanks.

That went a bit wrong, the stamp on the case anyhow is 3-IN-MK-II M2 LOT 22-23147-34 NS1942.

Here are the photos of the shell case. the base is 108mm across, and is 290mm tall.

The normal length for that MkIIM2 case is 586mm.
Blanks are usually 168mm. So this is probably cut-down (?) though it could be for a Blank or Clearing Charge...
