The latest acquisition - a 1916 dated 3 Pounder Vickers II 47x411R case.

I'm into tank rather than naval ammunition, but I purchased this as a place-holder for a 3 Pounder 2CWT case as I'd read the 3PR 2CWT tank gun was developed from the 3PR Vickers naval gun. However, further delving suggests the case for the 3PR 2CWT is a slightly shortened 3PR 47x376R Hotchkiss case rather a Vickers case. So if anyone would like to swap this Vickers case for a reasonably tidy Hotchkiss case (ideally interwar dated) please PM me.

The 3 pounder 2CWT case measures 47x352R64 opposed to 47x376R64. In my collection years I only found one of these, I consider them very rare. My case is dated 1926.

I did actually briefly own a 3PR 2CWT case 2 years ago that I found in a bric-a-brac shop in Devon whilst on holiday. However, another forum member made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I resold it. This provoked an interest in collecting tank ammo and now I'd like another. Two cases in one lifetime may be optimistic though. :)
