What a cracking round, and an increased capacity to the normal one as well, or does it just look that way as the driving band is sitting higher ?

The Mauser MK 212 was a competitor for the MK 108, with approximately the same weight and rate of fire but gas operated and achieving a higher muzzle velocity (580 m/s) due to the use of a bottlenecked 30x91 case of larger capacity.
