..It was a long way to introduce it into the armament of the army .... I will outline the post-war development of the 30mm machine gun and ammunition.
Stage ZK-453 from 1945 to 1947.
Between the years 5/1945 and 5/1946, no new ammunition was ordered for this machine gun. I will not mention the number of weapons that Zbrojovka had in stock from the war, nor the number of gun carriages. The published information does not agree with this, the authors have to deal with it themselves..
Consumed from the war production of ammunition 30mm Mk-303 Br.
An interesting fact about the post-war house is the transfer of drawings and samples of the 30 mm MK 303 Br. To the Russian army, with the fact that after several years the USSR military commission wanted more of the same drawings and lost them somewhere (probably)... there must therefore be at least one set of production drawings east of Prague.
The army tested the machine gun and ammunition and Army was blocked for export. There were many people interested in purchasing, showing, etc. in 1945-1949. (Venezuela, Yugoslavia, France, Sweden, Belgium, etc.) The only exception to the Army ban on transfer and promotion to foreign countries was for Yugoslavia in 1946 (including shooting ZK-453). Thus, for the sake of completeness in until 05/1945, nothing new in 30mm caliber was produced in Zbrojovka Brno.
The first "paper" order for ammunition after the war in 05/1946 VTÚ, namely 72 experimental pieces of projectiles (among other things, the design of the suction cavity in the bottom of the projectile was designed...etc.
In 1947, the army re-formulated its requirements and this was reflected in the order from Zbrojovka Brno for the production of a prototype of the 30mm PL machine gun ZK 453, a carriage (HUL-30) and a sight. In connection with the design of the weapon, also a new order for the development of 30mm ammunition (that is, the first ammunition of the post-war design in 1947..) Ammunition was ordered in the following versions: Tříštivý náhradní svítící náboj- Type 23, Tříštivý svítící náboj - Type 22 .. but also some others, including semi-armored, functional or...
In 1948, Army commissioned the development of 2 prototypes of a 30mm PL twin machine gun with a carriage and 1 prototype of a 30mm PL machine gun with a carriage without a sight. Again, there is a new ammunition design ... The drawings were newly marked and are not the same as in 1947.
Army, Zbrojovka Brno allocated several million crowns for weapons and ammunition.
In 1948, Zbrojovka produced a promotional brochure in Czech and English versions with the markings (Brochure) ZTS/725, ZTS/725a (30mm Automatic machine gun ZK-453).
