Just aquired a .3006 drill round made from Mazac or similar. Can anyone tell me anything about it. It has 2 flutes and a hole where the primer should be. No head stamp.
These were made of a zinc base metal by Lines Brothers, the makers of Tri-ang toys, at Morden Road, South Wimbledon, no more than a quarter mile from my front door.
They were made in .45 ACP, .30-06, 9mm P and 20mm.
Picture attached.(No 20mm as I do not collect them)
Lines Bros. did not make a .303 die-cast drill round, presumably because of the problems of the rim breaking off. The Australians attempted to get round this problem by having a steel base to their die cast drill round.
