Once upon a time I collected SAA, especially .303... I since sold my collection, but I thought I'd post a few of the cooler items.
First up, a .303 Rolled Brass Case Black Powder Blank. This is the Mk 1 introduced in 1890. Cast Iron base, 34 grains of blackpowder. Shown with a normal blank for scale.

Note the lack of a headstamp.

If the ordinary Mark I rolled case blank is cool, what does that make this experimantal rolled case Maxim gun blank? Ice cold?

As far as I know, this is the only surviving loaded round. There is one other unfinished unloaded case in a collection in the US.

Sorry for crowing...

Regards
