37mm M63 and a question

Found a beautiful 37mm M63 with an M58 BD Fuze intact sans energetics. Found it at the same dealer that had the 20mm-1.10" 75 Cal. As you can see, I just couldn't pass it up.

Now, You may have noticed that the casing looks like a 37mm M17, and after I bought it I stumbled on that fact, having concentrated on the M63 in it's glory. After looking at the base a couple of times ( I was kind of disappointed at that point and not seeing clearly) I noticed that it was fore runner to the M17 (as you can see in the pix), the 37M/M MOD. E. 3., TYPE 2 AUTO A.A. GUN. Now, according to Mellichamps second book, the round that should be in it is the MK II HE round from the M1916 Infantry Gun, as you can see by the one I have in my collection by the new one. Also, the primer date of 1928, (I didn't know they had started that early on the 37mm M1), bears that out, but I was wondering if anyone had heard that they had used the M63 in that casing for experimental purposes. The reason that I'm asking is this. When I got it back to my table at the gun show yesterday, and was fooling around with it, one of the potential customers saw it and commented that he had seen just the thing live (several by his remebering) that had been produced in Indiana somewhere (he said around Indianapolis). Has anyone ever heard of such a thing, or did I just luck out and find a great round on a great casing and the two aren't related. Thanks, Bruce.

Bruce,

Possibly this: Indiana Army Ammunition Plant (INAAP), Indiana Ordnance Works (IOW), IAA Journal, issue 478, page 4.
