Logically you are right, that projectile was specifically designed for the MK 103 and would be wasted in a MK 108.
However, I do recall some years ago at the ECRA International meeting seeing someone with a quantity of MK 108 rounds loaded with H-Pzgr - they were firmly crimped in. When I questioned him, he said they were found like that.
