Hi All, Just trying to fine out if there's anymore information out there about the colour of the 3in stokes as all I can find out is they were dirty white which can be all sorts of combinations of colour, I have done mine a very pale grey but it doesn't look right somehow, and would like to get it right, I think it should be more yellow like the HE shells were, what are your thoughts.
Cheers
Andy

One day I found one with original paint on a battlefield in the "Somme" ; hand painted (roughly painted with a large brush) with two thick strips of paint (red and pink) maybe rolled.
The paint (after 100 years) was like "light sand", not grey, something between a matte white and a light cream-sand color. In France we call it "broken white = off-white".
