Hi Could anybody tell me how the cartridge was held in place was there a clip to keep it from falling out, has anybody got a pic or drawing please

12 Gauge shotgun cart minus shot.

If memory serves me corectly the charge cartridge is merely a "good" push fit into the end of the tail fin pipe, on firing the cartridge is held in position by the expansion of the elongated Brass cartridge case base.
These cartridges only differ in the filling and the length of the Brass base attached to the cardboard tube (less shot of course!).

Someone here will have a good picture and a precise explanation.
