Any good ideas on what removes nickel plating ? Has a decent reject fuze.

Too heavy to ship so I will either keep it or take to next local show in the fall.

It does fit in my limited space, the window sill, but that annoying nickel plating ----- what to do ?

Take it to your local electroplaters.

If they reverse the polarity in the tank it will remove the plating.

excellent, I found a place close by and will call them. This won't affect the copper driving band I presume.

I suggest you ask them about what will happen to the copper band if anything, before it goes in the tank.

I was cleaning another projectile, it had nickel plating with muratic acid and I tried it on the 4.5 and the plating more or less dissolved and is 95% off, it sticks to the band the hardest of course. Looks like the body was polished as the markings are faint, though the band was left alone. Muratic won't touch chrome how ever.
