I acquired this 40 mm case and think it is for a Bofors cannon. Is it possible to tell which manufacturer produced the case? The case is also marked with an anchor and I guess it was used in the navy? The “gun part” was included in the sale and I guess it is a “flash hider” for the same type of cannon? It is quite heavy!
