40mm AP Proj.

Hi all,

Have a capped shot with the following stampings on 2 lines just above the driving band:

40.M/M AP
LUV/LOT 69 - 26. 9/42

It is very much the same length as a 2-pdr projectile, and is painted plain black.
Can anybody tell me if this is for the 40mm Bofors gun, or one of the 2-Pdr guns, and if the latter, which one please?

Why no mark No.?

Looks to be a Bofors 40 m/m. A.P.C. Shot Mk 7
Its a very early date, the others I've seen have been post war.
The first reference I can find is in the 'User Handbook of Anti-Aircraft Ammunition 1949'.
