40mm Bofors gone from NAS Oceana Dam Neck Annex

In 2012 I made this post http://iaaforum.org/forum3/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12310&p=87779&hilit=dam+neck#p87779 which shows 40mm Bofors at Dam Neck (scroll through the initial missile photos). I wondered if old rusting guns upset anyone of the high rank. It obviously did. Here is how it looks today. Alas,once again my photos become history.

I was stationed there in '72. It was at the end of a two-lane through a swamp. WW2 vintage student barracks for the "freshmen". The guns and torpedo launchers were still on the beach. Cameras were verboten. Now it's just another suburb. Those big nasty guns probably scared a student. Progress.
