Hi everyone, just got hold of a set of 6 40x53 cases linked. I was hoping to fill with some projectiles i have but these cases seem different. They have a large threaded section on the fuse.
Can anyone ID the cases.
only writing is 40mm x 53 UB (two dots above the U)
These are German 40x53R cases for automatic grenade launchers as they are used almost everywhere in the western world.
The system here has the projectiles fixed with a threaded section which rips off at a certain gas pressure and releases the projectile.
These do not compare with the normal 40x46SR/R as the ammo is not interchangeable and all components including the projectiles are different.
