IMG_3376.jpgIMG_3379.jpgIMG_3380.jpgIMG_3381.jpg Polish Wz-28 HE-T 40mm L/60 Bofors imported by the spanish Republic during the civil war 1936-1939. Marks in the body are: 39-38 A. Half of the shell was filled with an explosive container and a big amount of tracer composition. The base of the shell has a lead plug, the curious tracer igniter, a system to activate a black powder pellet conected to the main tracer unit. The rest of the colour left on the body was the original polish code. Sorry but no traces of the case and headstamps. After the war, the less than 30 existing Bofors were assigned to protect navy o army bases in Spain, shooting the scarce ammunition left.

Thats a very nice Projectile, nice to see all the bits arent missing for a change. Do you have a picture/diagram to show the original colour scheme? Cheers tig.

Sorry, no good diagrams, but as you can see, the body is painted light brown and the pre fuze white, mantaining the PD fuze in laquered brass. A friend of mine sent me a pic of the case yesterday.20130125_213739.jpg
