40mm Signal Cartridges

I saw this advert from D&B Militaria about 40mm signal cartridges.
The GR series look like the cardboard cases in 1.5" but made in aluminium cases.
The other two are marked as 40mm. I did not know these types existed. All comments are welcome.

They should be 38mm/1.5inch flare/signal rounds. Fired from the AN-M8 and British Webley of similar design, I can't remember the actual model number of it. It's weird, because I have never seen then labeled 40mm, maybe this was a British thing, as they look to be non US?

40mm RG 6:80.jpegI realised that there was a headstamp photo. RG 6/80 so they are British. I agree it is odd to call them 40mm.

These are too modern for me, but I have seen illuminating carts in 40mm listed as for the UGL which is 40mm. Just my thought. Tig.
