40mm x 78 (?) unknown round

Hello,
I got this round also, it is the British WW I 2Pdr MK I case with a projectile, which I don't know. I need info what purpose this was made for and what gun it actually was used in. The base is solid copper.
Headstamps: " 2Pdr. I LOT 1916 V.S.M."

This is a 1.59" Crayford incendiary round for the British WW1 era Vickers-Crayford anti-balloon gun. This was a manually loaded, single shot gun that was carried by aircraft. The projectile as phosphorous filled, which was expelled from two holes in the base during flight of the projectile.

Most of these were made with the case headstammped 1.59". I haven't seen one made from a shortened 2Pr case before.

There is a photo of the gun on a test mounting shown below.

Collector interest in these rounds is very high. I have seen them sell for hundreds of pounds each in the UK.

For all, I can put it up for a trade against fuzes or Russian ordnance, I don't have!
