42cm Dicke Berta projectile colour

A recent question arose on the Landships forum about the likely colour the projectiles for the 42cm Dicke Berta (and the Gamma Morser) were painted.
The British WW1 manual on German projectiles is mute about it's likely colour. Anyone have an opinion?

thank you! Unfortunately galica shows me 54 documents and not one seems to be from 1919. Which one is the correct one I wonder?

There are a couple of manuals on German projectiles in Gallica but this one has the coloured images of the projectiles.
