Hi
found this at a former WW2 range and we reckon it is a Vickers .50 drill round (shown next to browning .50 for comparison) Can anyone confirm and also any ideas on the headstamp markings?

many thanks mat

Hi,

Yes, certainly looks like a .50 Vickers Drill. The "K" indicates that it was made by Kynoch, in Birmingham, and the "D.1." indicates Drill, Mk. !.

Regards,
Roger.
