Yes, that's the Gruson. The only other one of similar size that I know of is the 53x188R for the Hotchkiss revolving cannon, but I think that all of those had wrapped rather than drawn cases.
This is what the Gruson with HE shell looks like:
From left to right: 37x200R (French "Tube canon" sub-calibre, also used in WW1 aircraft guns), 37x277R (French Mle 1935 casemate/naval AA), 40x107R (RN "High Angle" AA training guns, also used in WW2 harbour patrol craft), 47x131R (Japanese Hotchkiss), 47x280R (Belgian AT), 47x340R(Swiss M41 AT), 47x376R (UK Hotchkiss naval 3 pdr), 53x176R (German Gruson WW1 fortress gun), 57x224R (Belgian - for the gun used in the WW1 A7V tank)

Hello everyone
I was just starting a post about this 53 Gruson, when I saw the one of SG500. So I take advantage of it to ask some questions.
First, the letter D in the headstamp is for Dives, the metal supplier.
Some weaks ago, I have found a case with the same measurements as a 53 Gruson, but the headstamp is reduced to a only B. So I would be glad to know who is the maker of this case.
Another question: Does anybody knows for what country are intended the french cases 53 Roum? An evident answer is for Roumanie, but is that sure?
It also exist a 57 Roum, which has, I think, the same measurements as the 57x224R belgian or german ( Beute ). I have to verify.

It seems that on the german case, the shoulder ( I hope it is the correct word for paulement) is higher than on the others two.
