Hello,
need help for the exact caliber and what gun it was used
caselenght 102mm
rimdiameter 64mm
rim thickness 2,3mm
diameter above rim 57,5mm
diameter inside 55mm
diameter outside 56,5mm

Probably a 57x102R64 found in my reference list. Based on the head stamp it is German made for export, most likely of the period before 1900.
 
Thank you for that info - so I guess not much more known about that case.
Were can I find such a caliber refrence list?
 
Best book I know is by Dutch author Jan Janssens (I was lucky to help him for his book). Available on fairs where he visits. Second best is the "red" book "Big Bore Ammunition" by Hakwinson USA, not sure if it is still printed though. I have contact with Jan if you are interested, I believe the book is 45 or 50 euro ex shipping.
