Found this 57mm/6 pounder MK5 Naval case dated 1941, my question is :- was the 6 Pdr 7cwt projectile used or maybe it had its own type, thanks

I am sure that the projectile was not the 7cwt but the usual Hotchkiss projectile.
I have cases by MF dated 1932,34,35,36,37,38 and the only projectiles I find are practice with a small flat tip. Sure the HE types existed too.
VAEL I have cases made in 1938, 42,43 & 1944. Never seen a Canadian projectile but should follow the Hotchkiss design? I do not have 41 date. Will add to files.
I should say that these dates are in my files and not ALL are in my collection.

Hi ron3350, thanks for your comments, i'm not totally convinced that it takes the usual Hotchkiss projectile, more research is needed on this one
