57MM M70 -Can you see it?

DEADLINE222

Well-Known Member
My latest restoration; a 57mm APC M70.

There is "something" about it, in which I wonder how easily it is spotted.

Can you see it?

I agree with Dave and Ordman. It is an AP-Shot projo, not an APCapped projo.

Unfortunately for my pride, that is not what it is. :tinysmile_shy_t:

But I do however appreciate the pointing out of my silly error.

The reason for my error is because I used my .jpg file that is for the 57mm M86, APC. I simply changed the M86 to M70.

I will fix that soon.

I will give you all a hint:

COLOR

The driving band looks a little too "New" and light in colour unless it is really well polished, am i getting close ?
Best Weasel.

You got it!

I have yet to make the step to TIG welding on new copper rotating bands, as I like to work with the free steel I have an abundance of.

All of my prior restorations have been spray painted until I remembered my antique firearm restoration days. Thus, I am in the process of experimenting with the pictrued product.

Different levels of heat when applying the product equate to darker and/or aged levels. What you see on both of the projectiles is straight out of the bottle with no heat.
