The left

pre-series production from 1940, no tracer (blind plug), cap instead of a fuze, used for testing like ballistic/aerodynamic, precision and shot range, every shell have a number for analysitic the results, inert filled

The right

shell with "Hemmscheibe" and tracer, used for testing repaired/reworked barrels, in fact a proof shot which generate a higher pressure, no filling is clear for proof shots

No because i dont search for cases. The 50mm crossed my way with some other interesting things for my collection so i take them with me because i found them nice...
