6" Newton Question

Sorry, no pictures, just a couple of questions. I ran across a 6" Newton Trench Mortar in a gun shop yesterday in IMMACULATE condition. Tried to talk the owner in to selling it ( I ain't gave up yet). What would be the going price on this side of the pond for one without fuze or the fuze well? Also, what fuze did the U.S. use in theirs? Thanks, Bruce.

Fuzes and adapters are super hard to find, on both sides. I'm working on a US 6-inch right now with an adapter (mine is without), but have never seen a US model with a fuze. Only seen a couple of UK ones, and they were relic in France. I don't know if I have a doc that lists the fuze or not, Mr. Mortar in Chicago would.

Here is my copy Bruce with adaptor and fuze. I'll have to pull the numbers off of each of them.

HAZ, Your round looks like it has an adapter from a 155 Mk I and a Mk IV fuze, which seems like it would work. Any idea what the going price for a round without a fuze would run so I can offer a realistic price to the gent? Thanks, Bruce.

Here is a picture of the one I'm trying to get. The fuzes I've seen in Europe were nothing like the MK IV, or anything else for that matter. Think MKIII, but about half length and thicker. I'll see if I can find a picture later.

Bruce,

Everything is relative. It depends how much you want it. Start at $50.00 and work up till you hit your limit. I would imagine there would be someone out there that would ask $500.00 for it. Some people are greedy or stupid, or both.

Hello,

Other pictures (picture 1 and 2 from Us-Subs "Random Museum")
