Hi,can anybody post a cutaway drawing of a British 6 pdr Hotchkiss drill round circa 1900. Think it may be a mk2. Brass case, knurled rim, wooden projectile held in by 3 brass screws, NO holes in lower part of case. Any help appreciated.Tig

Hi Tig,

Have the following round in the collection, but do not know if it is an official drill, an unofficial one made by a Unit armourer, or someone's home-made attempt at making the case look complete.
6pdr drill hs 1.jpg6pdr drill hs 2.jpg6pdr drill 2.JPG The "projectile" is wood, - maybe oak,- and goes right to the bottom of the case, where it is fixed with 3 brass screws. It is quite well made, being a close fit to the case neck, and with a mock driving band turned on. The case rim is smooth.

Hope this is useful!

Regards,
Roger.
