I have this 6pr projectile, it looks recovered, wether from France or somebodies wretched garage/barn I have no idea.
My question is since the markings on these are limited compared to 18 pounders is what is the most correct case for it ?
I have a Mklll* case with the early screw in primer adaption for pre ww1, a Navel 1917 case and a 1918 Army case.
There is no date on the projectile but it matches recovered tank projectiles in France. But it will also match a million navel projectiles as well.
I have seen on this site a few actually known tank projctiles. Do any of my markings match up with those ? Mainly the smaller inspection marks.
Or do Army projectiles have much better markings in general ? (An army projectile doesn't neccessarilly mean tanks.)
Thoughts any one ~
Of course the answer might be any of these cases or impossible to know with any certainty.
