Does any of you have a photo of an unfired grenade? This one has a thread in the bottom indicating that something is missing and that the grenade body maybe is longer than the 8cm shown here.

Good evening again Anders,

Here Info sheet from company who made the piece you got. There are add-on devices known as the NICO 'Plus System' that provides users with the capability to add to the hand-thrown grenades a small screw on device to produce smoke, CS or OC dust and, if necessary, a hardened steel spike for penetrating glass or screens, or an electrical ignitor.

Hope that's answering your question.

Thank you again FCAT, fantastic information. :top:

Anders, the extention below is just a hand guard to prevent people from having their fingers in front of the bottom vents.

FR CDN AT, the "plus system" goes onto the side venting grenades only.

Hi EOD,
Does it fire all 6 shots simultaneously?
I would believe it would be more effective if they went of by 200ms in between the shots so it sounds like a minigun!
Also does it expels the 6 “grenade” shots from the grenade body or do they go of inside the grenade body?

Most excellent flash bang Anders. Another grenade that has great "eye appeal" So much to collect so little time (and funds!)..Cheero....Dano

Have a good day.

I think there is some confusion between different models of Sound and Flash Grenade. The Sound and Flash 6 Bang Grenade originally posted contains six sound and flash effects. On initiation the effects are ejected from the bottom of the canister. To the best of my knowledge no accessory can be attached to the bottom.

The latest photos posted by FCAT are of the Sound and Flash Grenade 2 Bang. On this model the sound and flash effects are ejected from the side. If you look closely at the photos you can see a round indent just below the brown band and above the white markings. This round indent is an outline of one of the effect.

According to the manufacturers information, the PLUS System can be added to the 1 bang, 2 bang and 9 bang grenades by screwing an adapter on the bottom of the grenade.

Hope the link works.

You could be right, but something can defiantly be screwed onto the bottom.

WoW!! Ayaya!!... I'm just relying onto info data sheet from the company... check out attach on the second post (#2). At bottom of fisrt portion of the sheet called technical data... it is stating that this grenade "can additionally be equipped with a plus-system or an electric igniter for remote ignition."
Now... I do not know if the same sentence is included on all those data sheet... just because I did not check out all of them. we were just taliking about the 6 bang... but on this particular one it is mentioned...

Anyway... have a good evening... going to bed...

Cheers everyone.

FR CDN AT, you missunderstood me. I said "side venting", means the base of these stays clear for attachments like the "plus system" (like in your image). The one in question above is not suitable for the "plus system" as it is offered by NICO right now since the vents are located in the bottom..
Three weeks ago I had a tour at their production and testing facility.

Anders, no, the idea is to distract the enemy by the sound reports of which he will not know the quantity. So the "bangs" are all delayed. Also the time intervals are not supposed to be too short. So "MG fire" style is no option here. Not to forget that each customer is providing his own specifications as for the delay and also the intervals between the bangs and also for the noise and light level.

Have just finished running a training course where the "6 bang" was deployed. In UK we use this version for training and the "9 bang" for operations. The functioning of both types is in a delay sequence. I am not aware that in the UK we specify our delay times. The nominal delay from throwing to first bang is 1 second. This is usually indicated by a label on the fly off lever.

Hi, I have a 9 bang version and the threading at the bottom just has a blanking screw. I am not aware of any further length to these things!
A little help maybe!

Your MOD does when they place their order. That goes also for the loudness of the bang and the brightness of the flash.
