60 x 116R German (Another head stamp added).

I previously asked the question under 59 x 116R. (and there has been a previous question about a similar case).

There are now three known head stamps. (The cases have NOT been cut down as all have a case length of 116 mm).

Known dates: 1901, 1905 and 1906.

Rim diameter is 72.2 mm

Calibre : 60 mm (6 cm).

I have personally seen three of these cases. All were found in South Africa and I assume that these came from German South West Africa.

Seems like an un-recorded calibre.

Hello Andy,

I think you are right about an un-recorded calibre.

In 1895 there was a (Krupp) "6 cm Schnellfeuer-Gebirgs-Kanone L/15 in zerlegbarer Lafette" (6 cm quick-firing mountain gun L/15 on dismountable carriage). Such guns were usually exported and I don't think they were used officially by German colonial troops in German South West Africa. And your cases don't have a German military headstamps.

I measured the case length in the picture with an image measurement tool but due to the bad image quality my measured length ranges from ~105 - 120 mm so it's very vague information. Sorry, I don't have any better information about this gun.
