6PDR 7CWT ammunition box

Greetings all,

A friend has picked up an ammunition box for carrying 6 x rounds of 6PDR 7CWT ammunition, the box is marked C264 1 1942. The maker is AS & S.
Does anyone have reference to war material contractors & their monograms as I would like to find out who AS & S is please?
