7,5cm PaK 40 Case

Got this off the Fjordhouse stall at Military Odyssey yesterday. (From whom I coincidentally got a nice 7,5cm KwK 40 case at War & Peace) There’s a slight dent underneath the neck, but otherwise this is - as dug steel cases go - a good example as it is completely solid and has no holes or cracks. The de-rusting process has commenced.

Post-clean up pictures. I removed 95%+ of the rust via electrolysis and finished it off with a citric acid dip. I then gave it a final polish with a wire brush wheel on a drill.

I’m very pleased with it. Also a bonus to have some remnants of the headstamps left. Is the ‘40’ in the 12 o’clock position the year of manufacture?
